What is included in the Daily Urban Experience fee (amenity fee)?

The mandatory Daily Urban Experience Fee (amenity fee) is $29.73 per night (including $25 + 18.9% tax). It includes:

• Complimentary tea & coffee service in the lobby (6:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)
• Complimentary infused water in the lobby (10:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.)

What is the CTID Transaction Charge?

Effective May 1st, 2026, the City of Chicago has implemented a new Chicago Tourism Improvement District (TID), which includes a 1.5% assessment on all guest room related revenue. This will appear on the guest folio as CTID Transaction Charge and it is mandatory for all guests.

Is Sofitel Chicago a non-smoking hotel (including vapes and other)?

Yes. Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile is 100% non-smoking. Smoking and vaping of any kind are not permitted throughout the hotel, including guest rooms and public areas. This includes marijuana, tobacco, e-cigarettes, vape devices and other products that produce smoke or vapor.

For the comfort and well-being of all guests, candles, incense and other items that produce smoke or involve an open flame are also not permitted in guest rooms or throughout the hotel.
Our guest rooms are equipped with smoke and vaping detection sensors designed to identify smoking and vaping activity. A cleaning fee of up to $500 per occurrence may be charged when smoking or vaping occurs in the hotel.

Can I take professional photos or videos at the hotel?
Professional, commercial, and organized photo or video sessions are not permitted in the hotel or its public areas without prior approval. Must be arranged 3 business days prior to requested shoot date. Approved sessions may be subject to a photography or filming fee and additional hotel guidelines. Guests and visitors wishing to arrange a professional photo or video session should contact the hotel’s Front Desk at 312-324-4000 in advance. The Front Desk will direct the request to the appropriate team for approval.

What is the minimum age requirement to check in the hotel?

Guests must be 21 years of age or older to check in.

What is required to check into the hotel?
A government-issued photo identification and credit card will be required at check-in.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

While we do not offer a shuttle service, we can have a member of our concierge team arrange a private car service. We ask that car service is arranged 48 hours in advance. PARKING

Yes, we offer valet parking. When you arrive to the hotel a member of our valet team will meet you at your vehicle.

·        $30 when dining at our restaurants with validation stamp from the dining outlet (up to 2 hours).

DOG POLICY

We extend a very warm welcome to dogs, service animals, and their people, happily accommodating up to two dogs per room (each up to 60 lbs) with a $100 non-refundable cleaning fee, per stay, per dog. Fees excluded for service animals. A block away is Washington Square Park, a favorite among local canines (and humans!) for its grassy play areas, shady trees, walking paths and central Victorian fountain.

GUEST PACKAGES

We can receive packages for you prior to and during your stay.

Up to 3 packages received are included in your amenity fee. After 3 packages there is a $5 per package charge that is applied directly to the reservation.

We ask that the name on the packages matches the name on the reservation so that we know we can accept them on your behalf. When you are ready to receive your packages simply contact our Concierge Desk and they will assist you in retrieving / delivering your packages.
